CGST Guwahati Recruitment 2025: The Office of the Principal Commissioner, Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) Commissionerate, Guwahati, has released a recruitment notification for one (1) Tax Assistant and ten (10) Havaldars under the sports quota. Interested and eligible candidates are invited to apply using the prescribed application format by 13.09.2025.

*Name of Post: Tax Assistant.

*No. of Vacancy: 01 (UR).

*Pay Scale: Rs. 25,500-81,100/-

*Name of Post: Havaldar.

*No. of Vacancies: 10 (UR-9, OBC-1).

*Pay Scale: 18,000-56,900.

Eligibility Criteria

*Citizenship: Candidate must be a citizen of India.

*Age Limit: The candidate must be between 18 and 27 years of age as of 13.09.2025.

*Age Relaxation: Relaxation up to a maximum of 5 years (10 years for SC/ST candidates) shall be allowed for sportspersons.

*Educational Qualification:

• Tax Assistant: The candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university or institution, and must also have basic knowledge of computer applications with a data entry speed of not less than 8000 key depressions per hour.

• Havaldar: The candidate must be 10th Pass/Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized board.

*Physical Standards:

• Tax Assistant: N/A.

• Havaldar: The minimum physical requirement for male candidates is a height of 157.5 cm and a chest of 81 cm (with 5 cm expansion). For female candidates, it is a height of 152 cm and weight of 48 kg. Relaxations in measurements apply to Garhwalis, Assamese, Gorkhas, and Scheduled Tribes. The physical test requires males to walk 1600 meters in 15 minutes and females to walk 1 km in 20 minutes.

*Sports Eligibility: Proficiency will be evaluated based on the candidate’s participation in recognized tournaments/events where they represented their country, state, university, or school between 2020 and 2025. The list of sports considered for this purpose is as follows:

Selection Procedure

To get selected, candidates will have to clear the following stages:

1. Scrutiny of Applications: Received applications will be scrutinized. Only eligible candidates will be shortlisted for the further stages of the selection process.

2. Field Trial (Sports Proficiency): Shortlisted candidates will be called for a field trial to assess their current fitness levels and performance in the specific sport/game they have applied for.

3. Skill Test/Physical Test: Shortlisted candidates must take further tests. A candidate who applied for the post of Tax Assistant will have to take a data entry speed test. A candidate who applied for the post of Havaldar will have to undergo a physical examination and a physical efficiency test.

2. Print the Form and Fill Out it with Black ink and in BLOCK Letters.
3. Attach following attested copies with application:
   • 10th/SSC or Equivalent Certificate for proof of Age.
   • Educational Qualification certificates.
   • Sports/games certificates/ forms as mentioned in Official Notification.
   • Caste Certificate (if any).
   • NOC from present employer (if applicable).
   • Aadhar card.
   • Recent Passport size photo (to be affixed in the application form.
4. Place them all in an envelope.
5. Superscribe the envelope as “Application for Sports Quota Recruitment 2025“.
