IRFC Recruitment 2026 | Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (As on 01.01.2026)

• Minimum 18 years, Maximum 30 years.
• SC/ST get 5 years relaxation, OBC-NCL get 3 years, PwBD get 10 years.

Educational Qualification

* Assistant (NE5 Level):

• B.Com (3 years) from a recognized university with minimum 60% marks.
• CA Intermediate passed from ICAI or ICMAI – both are accepted.

* Assistant Manager Finance (E1 Level):

• B.Com (3 years) with minimum 60% marks, plus any one of the following:
  • Qualified CA or CMA from ICAI or ICMAI, or
  • Regular 2 year MBA Finance or PGDM Finance from a recognized institute.

Both posts require a Service Bond – Rs. 2 Lakh for Assistant and Rs. 3 Lakh for Assistant Manager Finance. Probation is 1 year from date of joining.

Selection Process

IRFC Recruitment 2026 follows a multi-stage selection process. All candidates will appear for a Computer Based Test (CBT) in June 2026. For the Assistant (NE5) post, shortlisted candidates will go directly to Document Verification and Medical Test – no interview involved. For the Assistant Manager Finance (E1) post, a Personal Interview follows the CBT, with final merit calculated as 80% CBT and 20% interview. Negative marking applies in the CBT. Medical fitness as per Railway Medical Standards is mandatory for both posts before final appointment.

CBT Exam Pattern – Part A (Common for both posts):

Part B – Subject Specific (50 Questions):

• Assistant NE5: Corporate Accounting, Income Tax, Indirect Tax, Cost Accounting, Financial Management, Auditing, Banking & Insurance etc.
• Assistant Manager Finance E1: Accounting & IND AS, Strategic Financial Management, Auditing, Direct & Indirect Tax, Risk Management, Capital Markets etc.

Total: 100 Questions | 100 Marks | 90 Minutes

Minimum Qualifying Marks:

• UR / EWS: 40% | SC / OBC-NCL: 30% | ST: 25%

Exam Cities: Delhi/NCR, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai.
