IAF Agniveer Vayu Recruitment | Eligibility Criteria
- Age Limit: (i) Candidates born between 02 July 2005 and 02 January 2009 (both dates inclusive).
(ii) Upper age limit as on date of enrolment would be 21 years.
- Qualification
- Science Subjects: 10+2/Equivalent with Mathematics, Physics & English (50% aggregate and 50% in English), or 3-year Diploma in relevant Engineering stream with 50% aggregate and 50% in English, or 2 year Vocational Course with Physics & Math and 50% in aggregate and English.
- Other than Science Subjects: 10+2/Equivalent in any stream with 50% aggregate and 50% in English, or 2-year Vocational Course with 50% aggregate and 50% in English.
IAF Agniveer Vayu Recruitment | Physical Standard
- Height
- Male: Minimum 152 cm.
- Female: Minimum 152 cm (147 cm for NE/Uttarakhand hilly areas; 150 cm for Lakshadweep).
- Weight
- Should be proportionate to age and height.
- Chest
- Male: Minimum chest circumference should be 77 cms and the chest expansion should be atleast 5 cms.
- Female: The chest wall should be well proportioned and should be with minimum range of expansion of 05 cms.
- Hearing
- Candidate should have normal hearing i.e. able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters by each ear separately.
- Dental
- Should have healthy gums, good set of teeth and minimum 14 dental points.
- Gynaecological Examination (For female candidates)
- The examination covers external genitalia, hernia orifices and the perineum, any evidence of stress urinary incontinence or genital prolapse outside introitus.
- Pregnancy (For female candidates)
- Any candidate, if found pregnant shall be disqualified and her candidature will be rejected.
- Vision
- Visual Acuity: 6/12 each eye, correctable to 6/6.
- Colour Vision: CP-II.
- No LASIK/PRK allowed.

Selection Procedure
The selection process for Agniveer vayu Intake 02/2026 has three main steps – Online Exam, Physical & Adaptability Tests, and a Medical Examination. These steps help the Indian Air Force choose only the best and most fit boys and girls to join under the Agnipath Scheme.
Online Test
Online test will be objective type and questions will be bilingual (English & Hindi) except for English paper.
- Science Subjects
- Syllabus: Physics, Mathematics, English as per 10+2 CBSE Syllabus.
- Duration: 60 minutes
- Other than Science Subjects
- Syllabus: English, Reasoning & General Awareness.
- Duration: 45 minutes.
- Both Science Subjects & Other than Science Subjects
- Syllabus: Physics, Mathematics and English as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus and Reasoning & General Awareness.
- Duration: 85 minutes.
Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

Adapdability Test
Adaptability Test I
- All candidates who pass the Physical Fitness Test (PFT) shall have to undertake Adaptability Test-I (objective type written test) which is to assess suitability of a candidate for employment in the Indian Air Force, which involves deployment in varied geographic terrain, weather and operational conditions.
Adaptability Test II
- All candidates who pass Adaptability Test-I will have to undertake Adaptability Test-II as per policy in vogue. Adaptability Test-II is for selection of candidates who can adapt to the environment of the Indian Air Force and are able to adjust to the military way of life.
Medical Examination
- Candidates who clear Phase II undergo a comprehensive medical exam conducted by Air Force medical authorities.
